Hi, I’m Lori

Growing up and living in California, I’ve always been surrounded by homes that look beautiful from the outside but feel very different once you step inside. Over the years, I’ve lived in spaces with standard ceilings, uneven natural light, and layouts that never quite flowed the way I wanted them to. I didn’t come from a design background, and I never planned to work in home decor, but I constantly found myself trying to make my living spaces feel calmer, brighter, and more comfortable.

My interest deepened as I moved through different homes and life stages. I spent countless evenings rearranging furniture, adjusting layouts, and standing back to see how small changes affected the room. I noticed how ceiling height influenced how relaxed a space felt, how light shifted throughout the day, and how certain arrangements made everyday routines easier or harder. Without the option for major renovations, I learned to work within real limitations and focus on details that most people overlook.

Over more than five years, this curiosity turned into intentional learning. I began studying interior layout principles on my own, reading about how proportion, balance, and spacing affect the way a room functions. I paid close attention to real homes rather than idealized showrooms, comparing what worked across different styles and why certain spaces consistently felt better to live in. I kept notes, saved visual references, and documented patterns so I could understand not just what looked good, but why it worked.

As time went on, friends and family started asking for help. They were dealing with the same challenges I had faced: low ceilings, awkward layouts, rooms that felt heavy or unfinished, and homes that needed to be functional without losing warmth. Helping them reinforced what I had learned and pushed me to organize my ideas more clearly.

Eventually, I decided to start this blog.

Ceiloria was created as a place to share the practical home decor ideas and design inspiration I had gathered through years of real-life experience. The site focuses on everyday living spaces, including ceiling decor, backyard ideas, bathroom design, bedroom styling, kitchen inspiration, and living room decor. Everything I share is rooted in realistic homes and adaptable concepts that can work across different layouts, styles, and budgets.

I don’t believe in perfect homes or one-size-fits-all solutions. I believe in thoughtful adjustments, learning how your space works, and making changes that support how you actually live. My goal with Ceiloria is to help readers see new possibilities in their homes and feel more confident making design decisions over time.
